Notes from the Director: Wintery Fun

Everybody dance now.

If you're like me, you heard the next three drop beats in you head from C+C Music Factory's 1990 hit by the same title. And just in time because this weekend, we're celebrating one of Seattle University's traditions, the annual Dance Marathon for Seattle Children's Hospital. We're proud to support this effort for the children and families at SCH and the Uncompensated Care fund.

If you haven't already given, I would urge you to. Because, you know, kids in need. And because our students work all year long to make this a reality. And $99K is a lot of money. So why are you still reading? Do it! Or at least think about it, ok? Even the smallest amount will make a different. Click on the links below.

In other news, we were happy to partner with many of you this quarter thus far including OMA on the MLK Celebration, ISC on our Student Art Gallery installation, and ongoing collaborations with Athletics, Alumni Association, and Bon Appetit. We look forward to the many future collaborations with our friends, old and new. Hmm, maybe not "old" but "tried and true." Oh why not - oldies but goodies.

Okay people. Time to go. There's a lot more to read below. Reading is fundamental. So are our relationships. And raincoats. Thanks for reading.

Club Cultural Events

It's that time of year! Time for our identity-based clubs to practice dancing, singing, cooking, and sharing their culture with all of us. What would Seattle University be without these premier events? In case you wanted to get these on your calendar* (they're all in Campion Ballroom):

  • United Filipino Club's Barrio Fiesta: March 5
  • Triangle Club's Drag Show: April 1
  • Hui O'Nani's Luau: April 30
  • Vietnamese Student Association's Xuan Festival: May 5

* These are subject to change. Not a comprehensive list of all the amazing things these clubs are doing.
