Purpose:
The purpose of the TALGBTIC Annual Workshop is to provide a day of learning to local mental health professionals who hope to deepen their understanding of LGBT clients and subsequently increase their efficacy with this population. It also provides an opportunity for local professionals to network and discover available resources that may be helpful to their LGBT clients.
Theme:
The theme of the workshop is Sex, Sexuality, and Sensation Seeking within the LGBT community. Presenters will offer attendees research, theory, and practical application on how to address sex, sexuality, and sensation seeking behavior with LGBT clients. Presenters will address the unique needs of LGBT clients regarding these areas as well as offer attendees helpful and informed ways of approaching these topics in counseling. Other topics that are particularly relevant to LGBT clients and their unique needs in counseling will also be addressed.
CEUs:
This workshop will offer continuing education credits for the following professional licenses: LPC, LCDC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist, NBCC, SBEC, and Nursing.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
