Valle Verde Elementary - Going the Distance! November, 2020
Hello Valle Verde Community,
Now that the temperatures are starting to drop, it is appropriate to layer up and break out the sweaters for the fall weather. The month of November is a time for self-care and gratitude. While on social media, I observe quite a bit but my hat goes off to those that are taking the time to show gratitude everyday during the month of November. I am thankful for the school community. Our school community has consistently brought normalcy to the lives of our students during distance learning. My office staff continues to show parents that Valle Verde is still open and we embrace all of our families during distance learning. They also fully support the work that we do collectively. Teachers are working diligently to engage students on many levels. I appreciate the collaborative conversations between buddy classes. The buddy classes pair up the lower grade students with upper grade students. It is amazing to see the connection that students make through conversations and lessons. I have also observed parents making sure to allow space for their child to work independently during daily live interaction. We all have observed PTA keeping us engaged with activities that promote creativity, collaboration and community. Thank you PTA for ensuring Halloween activities and promoting fun and fitness! Let’s not forget about the students because they remind us that we can continue to learn and show spirit simultaneously. Thank you to our Student Council for planning a successful Red Ribbon Week! What are you thankful for? The research suggests that people that show gratitude tend to be happier. Make sure to create a gratitude jar or maybe plan for dinner conversations around gratitude. It makes a difference!
