Interim Report Cards
Your child’s Interim Progress Report will be sent home on Wednesday, February 1st..
Please take time to review the report with your child. Talk about areas of strength and areas in need of improvement. Let your child know that you support his/her efforts. Set goals with your child for the next 6 weeks. What does he/she hope to accomplish? What is the specific plan to get there and how will you track progress?
If you have questions or concerns, or just would like some more ideas about how to help your child, please contact us. We want to work with you to help your child succeed.
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
Doors open at 8:00 a.m. Students should not arrive prior to that time, as supervision is not available. Students arriving after 8:30 a.m. are tardy. Please send in a note or come to the office with your child.
Walkers are dismissed at 3:10 p.m. All walkers should go directly home. Please share these safety reminders with your children:
Remain on the sidewalks when walking to/from school.
Refrain from climbing on snow banks near the roadway.
Cross the road with the crossing guards.
School Notes
Winter is here…
Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Unless it is extremely cold, we go outside daily for recess. On warmer days, boots are still a good idea as the playground tends to get muddy.
Emailing Your Child’s Teacher...
Parents, please keep in mind that our teachers are very busy during the day with your children. They may not have a chance to check their email until the end of the day.
**If you have a message that they will need prior to the end of the day, please call our main office 758-4180.

Physicals
All 3rd graders must have a physical exam done and on file. School physicals are available Wednesday mornings. Or, make an appointment with your doctor and ask them to fax a copy of the physical to the school.

Pack an extra pair of pants for accidents, spills, mud or snow.
Return borrowed clothes to the nurse.
Check your child’s hair for head lice, treat as needed.
Dress for winter weather & outdoor recess.
If your child is sick, please keep your child home.
Please do not send a sick or injured child to school with the intention that they will be diagnosed and treated by the nurse. Our school nurse is not a medical diagnostician.

Library News
4th grade students continue to work on their research with online databases and in creating citations. This includes where they find the information that they need to answer class questions and how they can avoid plagiarizing.
3rd grade continues to work on using the library catalog and the call numbers to find books around the library. Students are also looking through the catalog to see what sort of books they are interested in reading as well as where we keep them on the shelves.
Our TEAM time sees our students using strategies to locate information to our questions and using complete sentences. We are also working on how to code on our computers using coding blocks to create games and animations!
Don’t forget to check with your child to see if they are keeping their books in a safe place when they bring them home, and one that they will remember when it is their library day!
