Link Crew is a club that helps the 7th graders adjust to the high school. It is an exclusive club for 8th-9th graders. It is run by Mrs. Decker. They set up different events for the 7th graders and only the 7th graders to go to. In September, they made popcorn for the 7th graders. Throughout the year, they plan to do more exciting and fun events. If you are wondering more about Link Crew, then please contact Mrs. Decker.

Senior Seminar Speaker
The Senior Seminar class, developed in partnership
with the Michigan College Access Network, is now in its seventh year.
It allows 12th grade students the time and support to prepare for the next step in their education, whether that is at a college, university, trade/training school, or the military.
Each week, guests visit the class to share their knowledge and inform students of their many post-secondary education options. Here is a student reflection from our recent speaker.
Central Michigan University
by Cherity Owens
Central Michigan University is a Public University in Mount Plesant, Michigan. We had the pleasure of one of their admission representatives, Maggie Voisin, coming to speak to the senior class at Dryden High School last week. Maggie Voisin did more than just exceed expectations, she was genuine with the students and told us everything straight.
She covered everything from dorm living to financial aid. She told us about the many ways you can save money at Central Michigan University, such as scholarships. You can apply to a lot of the scholarships they have if you meet the requirements. Even adjusting your meal plans at CMU to how you eat day-to-day can help you save money.
Maggie Voisin explained how the sports were at CMU and talked about campus life. She discussed some of the many clubs that CMU has and how more are getting added all of the time because people have many creative interests/ideas that they make clubs out of. She talked very positively about all of the games that take place at the university, volleyball, football, basketball, etc, and how much fun all of the students have when they’re at them.
I was excited to hear more about CMU since I know people who had gone there and said good things about the university. The presentation made me more interested in Central Michigan University, I cannot wait to explore more about the college and dive deeper into the majors they have.

Joke of the Week
by Ava DeVlaminck
I told my friend ten jokes to make him laugh.
Sadly, no pun in ten did.
Random Student of the Week
Lily Finnigan
Lily Finnigan is a Junior at Dryden. She has been going to Dryden since she was in 3rd grade. She says her favorite part about Dryden is “the option to take advanced classes and college classes. It is really nice to be able to get ahead and take college classes and not have to pay. I can work towards my associate's degree now and not spend so much time in college after high school and it's free”. She runs XC and plays Volleyball, Bowling, and Track. She is also a part of The Yearbook Club, The Dryden Red and Black, Fuel Up to Play 60, Color Me Green, National Honor Society, Student Council, and Drama Club. Outside of school, she goes to sports practices and loves to hang out with the Cross Country team. When she graduates she wishes to go to a college in Michigan, but she says “who knows, anything could change by then.”
Ian Weier
Ian Weier is a Junior at Dryden High School. He has been going to Dryden for 13 years (pre-school-11th grade)! He says that his favorite thing about Dryden is how small the school & community is. He plays competitive bowling, too. Outside of school in the summer, he loves to go outside and swim. Outside of school on cooler dates he loves to stay in or play in the snow. When he graduates from high school he wishes to take some time off, then go to college. His dream job is to become a video game developer. He wants us all to know that he is “a very nice person and I do pretty good in school. I enjoy watching all sports but my favorite is MLB (Major League Baseball) . I also like playing video games in my free time”.
