From the Principal
This week, Monroe students were able to welcome outside recess with the nicer weather. It was great that our students could get outside in the fresh air. Please remember that we will have a Professional Development Day on Friday, March 4th.
Monroe Elementary's PTO is kicking off their flower sale. The proceeds from this sale benefit Monroe students. Please take a look at the information that is coming home with your child on Thursday, March 3rd.
This newsletter contains the detailed information for Kindergarten Registration. If you know anyone that needs to register, please begin by scanning the QR code. It will take you to a video of instructions on how to register the student through Final Forms. Once your Final Forms are completed, Mrs. Vaughn, the school secretary will reach out to you to set up an appointment to come to Monroe Elementary on June 2nd and June 3rd.
Have a great weekend!

Teacher Spotlight- Mrs. Weber
What is your name and your position at Monroe Elementary?
Lisa Weber, Intervention Specialist
What's one thing you couldn't live without?
My 3 boys; William (5), Weston (3), and Wade (4 months) they are everything to me.
What is your FAVORITE thing to do?
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my friends and family. But more specifically, I enjoy playing sports, being on the water, walking, and spending time outside.
Where is the best place you've traveled to?
Dublin, Ireland is the best place I've traveled to. I went there in July of 2019 with my husband, mom, sister, and brother-in-law. We had the best time exploring Dublin and also got to go to Powerscourt Gardens, Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains, Malahide Castle, and to the fishing village of Howth. It was an amazing trip with the best scenery I've ever seen.
Who is your biggest inspiration? Why?
My dad is my biggest inspiration. He passed away after a year long battle with Pancreatic Cancer in 2010. Watching him go through something so terrible and he never once complained. He always had a smile on his face and was still doing everything he could for everyone else even though he was in so much pain. He is the strongest person I know.
What is the best book you've ever read?
Where the Wild Things Are is my favorite book of all time!
What is your favorite thing about working at Monroe Elementary School?
I love the people I work with, everyone is so caring and truly want the best for each child.
Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
My husband and I met playing indoor soccer.
