Roan Forest NEWS

Week of December 7th-11th

Thank you so much for making this year’s Apex Fun Run such a huge success!

The students had a wonderful time with the Apex team and the Fun Run was a blast. Now it’s time to collect all pledges that are due on Wednesday, December 9th, 2015.

Each student was given a Collections Envelope and Letter to take home after the Fun Run to collect checks from sponsors. Sponsors were also sent an email with a link to pay online. Our goal is to collect 100% of the funds pledged! Please help by contacting all sponsors to collect their checks or confirm that they have paid online. As a reminder, each class that collects all of their pledges will be receiving a special class prize!

You can also pay online by logging in with your student’s access code to the My Pledges tab at www.apexfunrun.com. If you need your student’s access code or didn’t receive an Apex email, please email info@apexfunrun.com and they will respond quickly.

Thanks so much for helping us reach our goal of 100% collected!

A heartfelt thanks to Ms. Molina and Ms. Dominguez for transforming our hallways and organizing this grand endeavor and all our incredible parent volunteers for their support.

Student Council Board Game Drive UPDATE

We have collected 120 games so far… There is one week left to reach our goal, so please consider picking up a game for our drive.

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, Student Council will be having a Board Game Drive to benefit the San Antonio Police Department Blue Santa program. In 1976, the Blue Santa program was created to help bring holiday happiness to families and children throughout San Antonio. Blue Santa is all about bringing hope and joy to families that struggle during the toughest times of the year, the holidays.

There are 822 families at Roan Forest; our goal is to synergize and collect one board game per family. As an incentive to our students, Student Council will reward our campus with a special treat on Friday, December 18th if our goal is reached.

We are asking that you use this opportunity to get your children involved in our donation drive and help us teach them about the value of giving. Tell them who the recipient of the gift will be and involve them in picking out a game. Let’s make a difference together!

We will be accepting new, unwrapped board games in collection boxes in the school rotunda from November 30th through December 10th.

Let’s make this holiday season a win-win for everyone. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Pierdolla at cpierd1@neisd.net or Mrs. Buntley at cbuntl@neisd.net.
