Taft High School

Happy Friday Raider Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying the great weather we are having.

I want to thank everyone for your patience as we have worked through our front construction project. Due to weather, inspections, and a few other logistics, this project has taken much longer than anticipated. I apologize for the inconveniences this may have caused.

As of today, the opening of our new front entrance is scheduled for Monday November 8th. We will begin moving our front offices on Friday November 5th and will be ready to receive visitors through our new front entrance the following Monday ( November 8th).

Thank you again for your continued support.

Have a great weekend,

Marti Fernandez

Taft Principal

As a reminder, Northside ISD students will receive meals at No Cost under the current USDA Waiver for the 2021-22 School Year. Although a Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application is Not Required for student meals, NISD families may benefit from the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT). P-EBT is a food benefit for families with children who temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price meals at school during the COVID-19 pandemic. Child Nutrition Services will accept Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications for potential P-EBT Benefits for the 2021-22 School Year. Qualifying for Free/Reduced Lunch also helps with discounted AP Exams and SAT fee waivers.

Families are welcome to fill out applications online at www.schoolcafe.com or pick up a paper application at the Free and Reduced Office located at 7520 Mainland Drive, San Antonio, TX 78250.

For more information, visit the Child Nutrition website at nisd.net/schools/menus.

Here is this week's letter communicating positive COVID cases of individuals who have been on our campus. We are sanitizing classrooms, cafeteria, locker rooms and high traffic areas on a daily basis. As always student and staff safety is our number one priority. Please know that contact tracing is done each time there is a positive case and students and staff who are deemed in close contact for each case are notified immediately.

We have had zero positive cases on campus this week.
