Developing Talkers

Tuesday, June 30th, 8:30am-3:30pm

Region 5 Education Service Center, Pine Street, Beaumont, TX, USA

This is a hybrid training. It will be offered as a Face to Face training and a virtual training.

Developed for schools that have teachers using the Developing Talkers program. In a single training in English, participants learn how to implement the English of the curriculum. This face-to-face training provides participants with an in-depth overview of the curriculum, as well as an understanding of what is included in the kit. During the session, participants learn how to employ each component of Tier 1, whole-group instruction; explore Whole-Group Extension Lessons; and learn about the Developing Talkers assessments and how to implement the Tier 2 materials during small-group instruction

This is an online event.

The workshop is a two-day overview of research-based Prekindergarten instructional strategies based on the Children’s Learning Institute’s CIRCLE/Preschool Early Language and Literacy Including Mathematics training. This training is interactive and provides fun, hands-on activities that teachers can use in implementing the Texas Prekindergarten Curriculum Guidelines. In addition, teachers will learn strategies to use to differentiate instruction for your ESL students. The CIRCLE Manual will be provided in English and in Spanish for each participant.

The following modules will be covered: Best Practices, ESL and PK, Language Development, Phonological Awareness, Letter Knowledge, Book Reading, Mathematics, and Written Expression.


The RECESS Grant is sponsoring this workshop. There will not be a charge for participants.


Participants must be registered by July 1st to receive a CIRCLE Manual.

CLI Engage's CIRCLE Progress Monitoring tool

CLI Engage’s CIRCLE Prekindergarten Progress Monitoring is an assessment tool that is on the Commissioner’s List of Approved Prekindergarten Assessment Instruments. This is a free PK assessment tool for all Texas ISD and Charter School prekindergarten classrooms.

  • Importance of using a prekindergarten progress monitoring assessment
  • Assessing prekindergarten students
