What is a Election?

Elections have to be held every 5 years. This is when the parties are most active. Out and about trying to get your vote! The do this by knocking on doors and handing out leaflets or flyers. A vote is a way of getting your say in the election: you say who you want to run the country on a slip of paper and put it in a box. They are anonymous!


It is a equal way of deciding how to do things. Once the elections are other the ruling government decide a lot of things using democracy in the houses of parliament. There is two rooms in the side of the houses of parliament, one saying yes and the other saying no. You enter witch ever room think is right, and that is the way you vote. You can only do this if you are a member.

Political Parties and PMs

There are three main parties: Liberal Democrats, Conservative and Labor. Although they are the main parties there ate others: Monster Raving Lonies, UKIP, and The Green Partie. Most of the three mains parties all have similar ideas, but the others have slightly different ones. For example The Green Parties think environment lay friendly ideas.
