Communication Regarding SnoGo/NTI Days

Friday, March 13th, 2020

Simpsonville Elementary Parents and Guardians,

As you are now well aware, Shelby County Public Schools is going to be using NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction Days, also known as “SnoGo Days”) from Monday, March 16th until Friday, March 27th due to the recent developments with COVID-19. We are still taking our Spring Break the week of March 30th – April 3rd; therefore, your Bobcat will not return to school until Monday, April 6th. Our teachers have worked diligently to create materials for students to use at home over the next two weeks.

The materials that were sent home with your student today include the following:

  • A checklist/list of activities for students to complete each day created by your student’s classroom teacher.
  • A list of activities from Essential Arts (Music, Art, Library, and P.E.) for students to complete. They can choose one of these areas to complete each day.
  • Materials your student will need to complete these activities, which may include copies, handouts, books, and various other school supplies.

Due to the usage of NTI days, school performances and events over the next two weeks—such as the Kindergarten and First Grade Musicals and our Spring Exhibition Night—have been postponed. Once school is back in session on a regular schedule, we will communicate when these events will be made up.

During our time away from school, you will be able to touch base with your student’s teacher via normal means of communication (Remind App, e-mail, etc.) from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. Please feel free to reach out to them if you have any questions pertaining to the work your child is to complete.

Know that our Simpsonville Elementary Bobcat Team is here to assist you and your family. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there is any way we can help during your student’s time at home.

Sincerely,

Adam Hicks
