Currents
By Hudson Brock
3 BIG IDEAS I HAVE LEARNED
OCEANIC CURRENTS
First Factor
The rise and fall of the tides, which is driven by the gravitational attraction of the sun and moon on Earth's oceans.
Second Factor
A second factor that drives ocean currents is wind. Winds drive currents that are at or near the ocean's surface.
Third Factor
A third factor that drives currents is thermohaline circulation - a process driven by density differences in water due to temperature (thermo) and salinity (haline) in different parts of the ocean.
Two Big Questions I Still Have
- How different are the oceanic currents affected by each different way it is formed?
2. What causes the currents to move a certain direction?
1 Way the Information in the Article Affects are Daily Lives.
The info affects are lives because this is happening right now in the world and it would be good to know about our world. Do you not wonder why the ocean takes you out to sea when you are swimming?
