Panda Prints

April 30, 2021

Dear Sherwood Community,

Please enjoy this video which culminates our Month of the Military celebration. Thank you to everyone who completed a tribute page and to Mrs. Kilen and Ms. Sebert for creating our virtual Wall of Honor!

As we approach the last six weeks of the school year, it is time for us to begin planning for next school year already. We are beginning to look at sections and placement for the coming school year. Please look at the two links below this message for registration for ALL students as well as a form if your child will not be returning.

We will begin the placement process for next year soon. If you feel that extraordinary factors exist of which the school should be aware of as we enter this process, please fill out this form by May 10, 2021. These factors might include your child's special learning needs and social-emotional development. A separate form will be sent to incoming kindergarten parents in May.

We look forward to ending this school year positively and together!

Wash your hands.

Wear a mask.

Watch your distance.

Stay safe everyone!

Panda Pride,

Rachel & Kevin

COVID-19 PCR Testing Information

We are excited to welcome students back full-time over the next two weeks! As shared at the Board meeting last night, we are offering weekly COVID-19 PRC testing. We highly encourage all families to opt into this opportunity as the goal is to further reduce, prevent the spread and increase school community safety.

Testing is voluntary and will require consent to participate. If a child were to test positive, the District will consult with the Lake County Health Department and refer to the IDPH Interim Exclusion Guidance.

For information on the screening please refer to the below documents.

  • FAQ
  • Consent Form
    • IMPORTANT: when using a cell phone device Turn OFF the Mobile-Friendly button and click OK (to see the complete text)
    • IMPORTANT: When signing type your initials and draw your signature in the text box

If you wish to have your child(ren) participate in the COVID-19 screening, a consent form will need to be completed for each child. The consent will remain open for the remainder of the school year and must be completed by Sunday to participate in the following week.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Holly Colin if you have further questions.
