Language is extremely important to the aboriginal people. Language carry cultural knowledge ,so the loss of landuage means the loss of cultural ,of Aboriginal people connections to their ancestors.

Language is important to the aboriginal people because
lmportance of language to the Aboriginal people because that is all they have. Imagen if you were them and told that you can no do what you do every day you would feel sad and like nothing. This is why l think that you leve them alone because they were hear first.

The Aborignal name forshellarbour has been recorded as both yerrowah(meeting place), and Wonwin, (place were the big fish were). The Eurpoean name for Shellharbour refers to the large quanities of shells found in Aboriginal middens along in the early mid 19th century. Due to the mining of the shells in the mid 19th for the productionof lime these vast middens no longer remain.
