Camp Invention® is coming to Pennridge!
Two exciting, weeklong summer adventures await children entering grades K-6 with activities that explore connections between science, technology, engineering, and innovation while sharpening their 21st century learning skills. Camp Invention allows children to experience real-world problem solving, creative thinking, invention, and teamwork while rotating through several fascinating modules inspired by the Inductees of the National Inventors Hall of Fame. Week one begins on July 10 and week two begins on July 17 with Tiffany Bates serving as Director of both programs!
Week One - Launch
Children will engage in creative thinking to design and build their own duct tape creations, explore aerodynamics to blast water rockets made from plastic bottles more than 50 feet in the air, take apart nonworking machines and devices to investigate their inner operations, and much more!
Week Two - Create
Children will spend their time connecting Sir Isaac Newton’s Three Laws of Motion with amusement park rides as creativity goes full throttle, building original prototypes using real tools, and so much more!
Every registration includes a complimentary Camp Invention t-shirt. Availability is limited, so visit www.campinvention.org or call 800.968.4332 to secure your child’s spot today!

On Thursday, May 18, 2017 the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging: Positively Aging Bucks County held its annual recognition event. The program was held at the Bucks County Administration Building in Doylestown, PA. The program featured remarks by the Bucks County Board of Commissioners and head of the program, Lorraine Horvath. Two awards were presented including the Loretta Osbourn Award and the Peggy O’Neill Award.
This past year, the agency celebrated 441 volunteers, providing 66,708 hours of service to 58 non-profit agencies, which accounted for $1.59 million dollars of volunteer service in 2016.
Among those recognized at the event included Mr. Gary Schiff, a retired teacher, and volunteer at Bedminster Elementary School. Mr. Schiff has been working with Bedminster students on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the past 7 years, primarily in the field of math.
Our students and staff have this to say about Mr. Schiff:
“Mr. Schiff cares about me and makes it fun to learn math.”
“Mr. Schiff teaches me with cool math games that we play together.”
“Every time I ask Mr. Schiff to help a child with at skill, they come back with a much better understanding of that skill.”
“Mr. Schiff is warm and welcoming, and students are eager to go with him to practice their math skills.”
Mr. Schiff and his wife, Sandy, reside in Doylestown, PA. On behalf of Bedminster Elementary, we’d like to thank Mr. Schiff for all he has done and wish him a great summer!

Shoe Success!
Congratulations, Bedminster! Our shoe drive was a success! You all did a great job finding and collecting your old shoes. Our total amount of shoes collected was 585 pairs of shoes. That’s fantastic! A big thanks to everyone who helped to collect shoes. You have made many people in need very, very happy. Thank you for participating in our shoe drive. It is greatly appreciated.
Study Island Celebration
On Wednesday, May 31, 2017, 130 Bedminster students (in grades 3,4 and 5) took part in a Study Island Celebration for reaching a variety of goals on the Study Island computer based program. Students enjoyed some Hawaiian dancing, water ice, and time outside to celebrate mastery of the reading, math, and science programs. The Study Island Committee, consisting of 5th graders who achieved 90% or higher on all ELA and Math categories, helped plan the event.
