Makerspace Challenges
Make a plan! 2nd graders worked together to plan a way to save "Sammy", a gummy worm, from drowning. They sketched out their ideas first. | Don't Let Him Fall! Using only paperclips, 2nd grade groups had to get the lifesaver around "Sammy" the gummy worm's neck. | Success! Working together in a team, many groups were successful! |

Make a Bot! Using only tape, an electric toothbrush, and a nail brush, 3rd graders were challenged to making a bristlebot that would move. | Get Creative The bristlebots were all different and many worked in similar ways. | Show it Off! After the allotted time to build, groups displayed their inventions and tested out their mobility. |

Tall Tales and Fairy Tales 4th graders read Tall Tales and Fairy Tales in their classrooms and then completed a STEM challenge in the library! The Billy Goats Gruff groups built a sturdy bridge out of 1 sheet of printer paper. | Lasso it Up! The Pecos Bill groups designed a working lasso from 4 plastic grocery bags. | Give it a Try! Each group had a chance to demonstrate their designs and how well they worked. |
Tall Tales and Fairy Tales
2nd Annual Poetry Picnic
Haikus 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders used Haikubes to write their own creative haikus during our Poetry Picnic. | Similes 1st and 2nd graders read the book Quick as a Cricket by Audrey Wood and then created their own simile poems. | Magnetic Poetry Students of all grades used the magnetic poetry and cookie sheets to create concrete poems. |
