West Buncombe February Newsletter

We are off to a great start in 2023 with a month already under our belt. February will be a month full of learning and buckling down to take advantage of the uninterrupted time we have. The staff at West buncombe couldn't be prouder of the hard work and great behavior that our students are demonstrating each and every day. Thank you for all you do to support us here at school.

What's Happening This Week:

This month we will be kicking off our Positive Behavior Support (PBIS) character trait of the month initiative. We will be focusing on the S in our S.O.A.R schoolwide expectations. S stands for safety. Children will be recognized for they safe behavior in the classroom, cafeteria, bus, and hallway. At the end of the month. those classrooms that have received 25 Eagle Eye stickers for demonstrating safe behavior will participate in a special activity.

Pioneer Days in the library!

The Symphony!

On January 26th members of the Asheville Symphony visited West Buncombe. 1st through 4th grade students learned about the different instruments and listened to the music the members played. Our kids were so well behaved and respectful throughout the whole assembly. Thank you to our students for being such good role models to others!

Buncombe County Schools Elementary Counselor of the Year

What an honor it is to be selected as the County's elementary counselor of the year and there could be no one more deserving than our very own Leah Davidson. Leah is instrumental in helping our school meet the needs of our students. She is always a smiling face that supports or students in whatever she can, and I think she knows all 600+ students by name. Congratulations to you Leah.
