The Queen's Jubilee

The children all enjoyed their Jubilee Picnic at school yesterday. Thank you to Mrs Doy, for preparing this special lunch.

We were delighted to plant our new tree today to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. This will be part of the ‘Queen’s Green Canopy’, which is an initiative to plant trees all around the country in order to mark the Jubilee. The children looked wonderful for the occasion dressed in red, white & blue, and Willow Class wore wonderful crowns that they had made.

All the children will be coming home with a commemorative Jubilee teddy bear today. Thank you to FOSS who have kindly donated these, we hope they enjoy their new homes!

Sports Day

Thank you to everyone who came to support Sports Day this week. We put it earlier in the term so that we had more chance to get nice weather – and it nearly worked! Thanks especially to Mr Rich for wonderful organisation and Maple Class for helping to run the events.

School Calendar

Please remember to keep checking the calendar next half term, as there will be a lot happening in school. We are planning to hold a production for parents, done by KS2 children, there will be a transition day for new classes, an end of year service in church, and other events happening. Dates will be circulated in the news, but the calendar is always the best source of advance notice.

A link to the calendar is further down the newsletter.

Teaching Assistant Vacancy

We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant at Saxton, please visit our website via the link for full details or contact Katie on 01977 682388 or email closing date 8th June at noon.

School Lunches

Please see the Summer 2022 Lunch menu below. After half term we will be on Week 3 of lunches.

Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.

Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.

Each day there are 4 choices, either the hot dinner, hot vegetarian option, jacket potato with a choice of toppings or a sandwich. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.

Packed Lunches - if you are sending grapes in your child's packed lunch, can you please ensure that these are cut in half.
