Phonak Guidelines for Cleaning and Disinfecting
- You can wipe down your Phonak equipment with any of the WHO or CDC approved disinfecting wipes you may be personally using at the office or home on your own hands. This includes Audio Wipes, Sani Wipes, Clorox, and Lysol.
- Phonak C&C wipes’ active ingredients are on the approved list from WHO. Product information: Phonak C&C wipes [098-0012] $3.99/box. Phonak Cleaning and Care (C&C) wipes are a Quaternary Ammonium Compound based disinfectant, per the WHO’s above description, this is capable of disinfecting enveloped viruses such as COVID-19. The wipes have been created to disinfect hearing systems, including shared Roger transmitters, hearing aids and earmolds.
* As a note… Please use the same care and caution in cleaning Phonak equipment as you would in cleaning an electronic device or smart phone:
- Do not submerge equipment; lightly wipe the devices with the cleaning cloth or spray cleaning solution on a cloth and not directly on the device
- Be careful not to over saturate mic and receiver openings
- Be sure to finish by wiping the equipment with a clean, dry, cloth to prevent moisture buildup
- Be sure equipment is dry before any long term storage
