Weekly Recap
Hopefully this message finds you in good spirits. We had a full week of learning and various activities that culminated with our House Meetings. Shout out to Penseur (blue house) for leading in House Points. At Open House, parents were able to learn information and review the Longhorn Essentials and our campus expectations using a cooperative learning structure that is helpful for reviewing (Quiz-Quiz-Trade). This event also allowed scholars and their families the opportunity to hear about the various clubs that we will offer this year. On Thursday evening, two informative workshops took place. One focused on Special Education Services, and the other focused on College Planning. Valuable information was shared and received.
As we move into the eighth week of school, we want you to be mindful that our annual Parent Conference season has arrived. Teachers are scheduling conferences so that adequate time is allowed for each conference. Conferences will take place on Thursday, October 4 from 4:30-8:00 p.m. and Friday, October 5 from 7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Conferences are by appointment, so reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher to schedule.
As a reminder, there is no school for scholars Friday, October 5 or Monday, October 8. October 8th is our Fair Day.
Read the information located on below in the newsletter to learn about campus/district happenings, important reminders, news from APD and PTA, and upcoming events. Always remember that "The Race for Excellence has No Finish Line."
