Hello, Thomas Families!

Building News

Focused on a Friday

My oh my, it's been a busy week! I am sure families can tell by reading their classroom weekly newsletters, students are engaged in high quality instruction, thoughtful study, and authentic activities. Even on a Friday afternoon, I can walk around the building and capture engagement in learning:-) From the collaborative rainbow STEM activity to the second grade vocal performance to third grade word work, fourth grade point of view shift challenge, and fifth grade research projects, students were truly enjoying the creation and exploration of information! Check out the pictures below of our Thomas Tigers at work!

Thomas families, please visit to check out this site. There are free resources including podcasts and weekly strategies to positively impact your daily work:-)

Here is an activity call Family Crest.

Does your family have a Family Crest? A Family Crest is a coat of arms typically drawn on a shield, unique to your family, to honor your family name. In this challenge, you will work together to research to find out if your family already has a crest. If not, here’s your chance to create your Family Crest. What symbols, words, colors, logo will you use to represent your family, to tell the world who you are and what you stand for?

Using whatever supplies you want, work together to make one. When it’s done, take a picture and send it to other family to see if they want to contribute!
