Senior College Acceptance Announcements

Important Info For Seniors

Class of 2022- September is College Application Month. If you haven’t already started to apply to college(s) now is the time to start the college application process. See email from Mrs. Rose on which colleges are waving their application fees. Yes, you still need to start the application process for TCAT and community colleges at this time as well.

College visits – You get 2 excused visit per year (slips are in my main office and will need to be signed and return before college visit; you will also need to bring back a slip from the college stating you did a campus visit)

Colleges Visiting LCHS: 9:30-10:05am in the library and are also here to help with applying or other questions you may have

  • Wed Sept 8th Columbia State
  • Thur Sept 9th TCAT Pulaski
  • Tues Sept 14th Lincoln Tech
  • Wed Sep 15th University of North Alabama
  • Thur Sept 16th Calhoun Community College & MTSU
  • Fri Sept 17th Lee University & TCAT Shelbyville

Next Steps for seniors:

  • In October you should be focusing on completing the FAFSA and submitting scholarship applications.
  • Schedule one on one appointment with Mrs. Rose to discuss your plans after high school or if you are in a capstone class

SkillsUSA Membership forms are due by September 10 to either Mrs. Barnes or Coach Byrd. Membership is $20 and includes Chapter t-shirt. See above picture for shirt design.

Robotics

Congratulations to Lincoln County High School Robotics program and Blanche School Robotics! They are recipients of the 2021-22 STEDTRAIN Seed Grants. STEDTRAIN is a Committee that administers a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Seed Grant program that provides funding to Huntsville, Alabama area educators for innovative hands-on classroom projects that will stimulate student's interest in science and technology. This is the third year the Lincoln County Robotics has received this grant and the first year for Blanche. We look forward to seeing students grow in the Blanche School Robotics program and continue with the high school!

HOSA

Shelby McCown and Abbie Grace Mashburn attended the September school board meeting representing HOSA. These students led the Pledge of allegiance and gave an update on current HOSA activities. Shelby and Abbie Grace were on the 20-21 LCHS HOSA Public Service Announcement team. They discussed this summer's International Leadership Conference where this team competed against teams from all 50 US states, US territories, Canada, Mexico, China and South Korea and placed 4th overall. Shelby and Mary are two of our current HOSA officers. We are looking forward to an exciting year with HOSA. If you are interested in becoming a member, we are taking new members through Sept 30th.
