Where Everyone Can Succeed
Good Afternoon Parents and Caregivers,
All NSW Public Schools have entered their 21st straight week of work. As I mentioned in last fortnight's edition, I am absolutely proud of and thankful for the dedication and care shown by our staff towards the children of our community.
Our School has truly become a massive construction zone, with the new fence (internal and external) well underway; the power upgrade works continuing and preliminary physical site works on our playground restoration also underway. This is a massive undertaking and has involved years of work by the School in partnership with its Community. We are tired, but are very grateful for the support of School Infrastructure NSW in bringing these three dreams to fruition, and simultaneously.
School Reports are in their final stages of completion for issue at the end of this term. They will be provided with a 1-page overview, a 'Learning Journey' of what students were exposed to in Semester One. It represents part of the learning pathway, along which continue teach to the point of need.
To assist with this, we will also be including an optional, 1-page 'Feed Forward' sheet for you to optionally complete and return to the school by the end of Week 2, Term Three. Teachers and the School know that this semester in particular, you know your children as well as we do. Your insights into how they have learnt and grown at home, particularly in English and Mathematics, and potential areas for improvement, will be invaluable.
We are also now planning for a delayed acknowledgment and celebration of NAIDOC in Term 4, sadly delayed due to the trailing impacts of COVID-19. Please look out for a whole-school, community collaboration project under our Aboriginal Education programs that clearly sets our ambitions for language, identity and language in our school over the next 10-20 years. This will come early next term.
Until then, take care, stay safe and thank you for working with us,
Glendore Public School: Where Everyone Can Succeed.
