EMMETSBURG DISTRICT MISSION
The mission of the Emmetsburg Community School District is to prepare responsible and productive citizens for an ever changing world by utilization of our total resources through a partnership of the family, school, and community.
Kindergarten Readiness
Readiness students enjoyed learning about turkeys on their visit to the Nature Center in November. They even got to go on a turkey hunt!
First Grade
First graders have had a busy month! They have had some guest readers, learned some new math games and practiced those with friends. Before Thanksgiving break they practiced gratitude with some thankful turkeys.
Preschoolers
Preschoolers have been busy learning how to play with friends. Building is a common center area this year! Students have also been working on fine motor skills with some shaving cream and drawing letters with feathers.
3rd Graders and High School Students
Pen Pals from Mrs. Moffit's high school class came and visited their friends. We started the morning out with Thanksgiving Bingo and ended with making a 3D turkey that students got to color, cut, and put together!
2nd Graders
2nd graders in art class had a lot of people they were thankful for! 2nd graders also have enjoyed reading books with younger students.
Kindergarten
Kindergarten has had a busy November! They most exciting memory is they put on a Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade with balloons they created and attached them to a BeeBot and then programed it to go down the hallway.
4th Graders and RSVP
RSVP is a volunteer group that has been our 4th graders pen pals this year. They came to West and meet our students while everyone enjoyed a snack and a book.
