DTCC Advising and Registration

It is now time to select and register for Spring 2023 college courses. All students must meet with Mr. Evans individually for course selection and approval. An email with relevant details and instructions was sent to students and parents on October 10th. Students should use the information provided there to schedule an appointment with Mr. Evans by the November 14th deadline.


If a student does not meet this deadline, Mr. Evans will select their classes for them and they will not be permitted to request changes.

CFNC’s College Application Week - Oct. 17-21

Select schools in NC will be waiving the Application Fee for applications submit during this time frame. Mrs. Machak will be available to help students submit their application Monday from 9-12, and Wednesday & Friday 9-4 in the Building 4 Makerspace. Seniors are encouraged to stop by during those times to receive support on College Applications. Seniors who submit a college application during application week should show Mrs. Machak to receive a sticker and enter a raffle at Senior House on Friday 10/21.

FAFSA Night – Game Plan College - Oct. 25

Game Plan College is hosting a FAFSA support night on 10/25 with services in English and Spanish at the Emily K Center 904 W Chapel Hill St. Register at bit.ly/2022FN to receive updates. Bring your documents and get help filling out the FAFSA. This is an important step in the College Application Process.

Student Council Elections

    • Available Positions: Junior President, Junior Vice President, Junior Treasurer, Junior Secretary, Senior Treasurer
    • Senior Treasurer speeches will take place at Senior House on October 21st
    • Junior President and Junior Vice President speeches will take place at Town Hall on November 4th (Junior Treasurer and Junior Secretary will not make speeches, so start your campaign now!)
    • Voting will also take place on November 4th via google form following November Town Hall.
    • Students wishing to run and not able to give a speech at House or Town Hall due to a DTCC class can submit a 1 minute speech to Mrs. Machak or Mrs. Habte.
    • Please fill out this form if you are wanting to run for any available positions.

MCHS Speech and Debate

MCHS Speech and Debate team is currently preparing for two upcoming tournaments, October 22nd at Enloe High School in Raleigh and November 12th at Cary High School in Cary. MCHS Speech and Debate meets each Tuesday in 1-150 of the White Building from 3:35 pm until 4:35 pm. All MCHS students are invited to participate.

Ethics Bowl

Ethics Bowl will meet in room 1-150 of the White Building on Thursdays from 3:35 pm until 4:35 pm. UNC-CH students will be present to help prepare students for Ethics Bowl competition at the end of January to be held at UNC-CH campus. All MCHS students are invited to participate.
