Social Host Law

As we head into summer please remember that parent/guardian disapproval of substance use is one of the top protective factors when it comes to youth deciding whether or not to use. In addition, the Social Host Law in MA makes it illegal to furnish alcohol for youth under 21 years old. Please help keep our youth and their developing brains healthy this summer.

PSHS Rocket Club

The after school PSHS Rocket Club has been meeting throughout the school year and on Monday they had their final launch of the year.

Advised by Mr. Yaeger, Rocket Club participants first launched a three-stage rocket in February. This was certainly a learning experience during which the second and third stages fell off the main body before firing.

On Monday the club launched the Sky Ferry Kit, which performed as expected and was recovered; it landed in the Plymouth South Middle School tennis court area. On that same day, the students also launched their large rocket, which had four motors that ignited simultaneously. Club members used small-sized motors to ensure recovery. And in fact, all motors fired and the rocket was even recovered.

The Rocket Club wishes to thank the CAD department for printing the ring-fin and to Automotive for providing the 12-volt battery and technical assistance at launch!
