Nurse Bonner's Notes
We are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with the ForsythKids Dental program to help evaluate some of our students before the winter break. Good oral hygiene is so essential for our health. Many may think that cavities in baby teeth don’t matter because they fall out anyways! This is far from the truth. It can affect permanent teeth and can lead to other health issues as we age. Here are some tips for maintaining good oral health habits. Dental Health and Hygiene for Young Children

District Update(s)
STAR Universal Screener Update (LAST WEEK)
Universal Screening Assessments
We will be using the STAR 360 universal screener this year as our universal screener. This assessment is designed to help us identify students who may need additional support and/or intervention in reading and math. Students will be assessed three times this year: Fall, Winter, and Spring. The next assessment window for grades K-5 is January 3- January 13. This will be the first universal screening with STAR Early Literacy for Kindergarten.
Students will need to bring their school-issued iPad or Chromebook to school on days that they are testing. Parents should expect an email from their teacher with more specifics on the dates for their class.
Teachers will also be using the STAR Curriculum-Based Measures to monitor progress.
