ELECTION RESOURCES THROUGH DISCOVERY

Kids Voting will be returning to Rockwood this year. Discovery Education has partnered with Envision to bring you Chase the Race In School which is designed to provide middle and high school classrooms with tools to engage, captivate and energize the youth voice on the importance of civic engagement. ARGUMENT WRITING RESOURCES

One important step in preparing students for clear, precise argument writing is providing the tools for working with sources. Students need structures and supports as they learn to gather and evaluate sources, to analyze information, and ultimately come to a logical, justifiable conclusion. The three links below provide outstanding tools to support students as they work with sources.

CONSTITUTION DAY IS SEPTEMBER 16

Our new Rockwood Social Studies Curriculum is designed to support our students in building strong democratic values and principles as embodied in the Constitution and fundamental charters of freedom. Please take time on September 16th to include an opportunity to build on these strong foundations in a manner that is best suited to your curriculum. Several resources are shown below.
