I have a lot of information to share. Sit back and enjoy all the last minute details. There are likely things missing, so please do not hesitate to bring to my attention anything that has been overlooked or if you have any questions.
It's Practicum Time!
FACILITY
Palm Valley Lutheran Church - 2500 E Palm Valley Blvd, Round Rock, TX 78665
SET UP
We will be setting up on Sunday, 5pm-7pm. Please make plans to be there as it will be our last chance to work through details prior to things getting rolling the next morning. Please let Katie Ables know if you cannot make it.
CLASS HOURS
Please plan on being prepared and ready to open your classes by 8:30am the first day and by 8:45am on Days 2 and 3. The facility will be open as early as 7:30am on Day 1 and 8:00am on Days 2 and 3. Katie will be in touch with Camp Leader meeting/prayer times, if applicable.
Classes will go from 9-12pm, break for lunch at 12pm and will open again at 12:50pm. Parents will pick-up their children at 4pm.
CAMP TUBS/MATERIALS
Each camp will have a tub full of generic supplies (kleenex, clorox wipes, etc.) as well as teaching items and materials for the camps. Please double check your tubs upon receipt to ensure all materials you will be needing are available. Also, PLEASE feel the freedom to bring whatever extra items you think would make the time more enjoyable.
By the end of Day 3, you can load everything inside (minus your personal contributions) and stack by the registration tables. All CC Materials provided at setup need to be returned to the Camp Coordinator (Katie) at the end of Practicum.
SCHEDULE
You will be responsible for creating your own schedule or plan on using the schedule in the Camp Guide. We have created a RECESS SCHEDULE (see below) to ensure you have reserved time on playground/outside if you so choose. Please use at your discretion.

Geo1(WILSON): 10:05 - 10:30
Geo2 (SCHER): 10:30 - 10:55
Public Speaking: 10:55 - 11:20 - No playground access - Outside only
LTW: 11:20 - 11:45 - No playground access - Outside only
Nursery: anytime between 10:55 - 11:45
PM
Play: 1:40 - 2:05
Geo2 (SCHER): 2:05 - 2:30
Geo1 (WILSON): 2:30 - 2:55
Logic: 2:55 - 3:20 - No playground access - Outside only
LTW: 3:20 - 3:45 - No playground access - Outside only
Nursery: anytime between 2:55 - 3:45
*Please plan on accompanying your class to the playground/recess time.
RAIN CONTINGENCY
Pray it doesn't rain, but if the Lord chooses to bless us with rain, please have a few activities up your sleeve for what would have been your recess time. Some ideas are: any of the games in the Camp Game Guide (email me if you don't have a copy), bring an age appropriate movie/educational show, manipulative, board game, etc.
STUDENT LIST
Be on the lookout to receive a copy of your student roster this coming Monday. Please review parent comments, if applicable. Email Adrianne if concerns arise. Check-in/out sheets will be made for you and ready at setup.
CAMP HELPERS & VOLUNTEERS
An email will also be sent Monday with your assigned Helpers and Teen Volunteers. They have been given no direct responsibility other than to assist you in whatever capacity is needed and requested by you. Please do not feel shy about asking them for help. If you are having concerns about a particular placement, please contact Katie for assistance.
SNACKS * THIS WILL BE A NUT-FREE FACILITY *
We have asked parents to provide each child with TWO snacks, one for mid-morning and one for the afternoon. We will have emergency snacks available for students who come without a snack. There will be snacks available in the hospitality room for you as well.
LUNCH * THIS WILL BE A NUT-FREE FACILITY *
We will be asking that parents pick up their children from camp as quickly as possible, allowing Camp Workers as much time as possible for a lunch break. Please be in your classrooms by 12:50pm to start welcoming students back to class.
CLASS DISMISSAL
To ensure the safety of our campers, we will assign each family with a family number. This number will be on the parents name tag in addition to the student wrist band. Upon check-in, please ask the parent to indicate their family number next to their students name. Matching this number will serve as authorization at pick-up. If a name tag or wristband is lost or forgotten, parents will be requested to show ID. Discretion is encouraged. If there is any problem, please ask Camp Coordinator, Katie Ables for assistance.
TEAR-DOWN
* Please take a picture of how your room is set-up prior to moving tables/chairs. You will be responsible, with the help of others, to reset your classroom at the end of Day 3. Our Facility Coordinator, Kindra Pladies, will communicate the specific needs for each room.
PRAYERS NEEDED
Please be praying over this Practicum. Pray for health and safety for the students, staff, parents, and leaders. Pray for abundant peace over our camps as well as grace and endurance for all of our leaders/staff. Pray that more than anything the name of Jesus is lifted high and that He gets all the glory from the fruit of our time together.
