Jump Rope for Heart

This year our school will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart. Students and staff will be raising money for the American Heart Association and to promote a heart healthy lifestyle. We will have a Jump Rope for Heart kick off assembly on Thursday, February 4th at 3:00 PM to give students and staff all of the details.

On Monday, February 29th, we will celebrate our efforts with a Jump Rope for Heart Event from 4:00-5:45 PM after school. Details will be coming home this week on Thursday. We look forward to this worthwhile and fun initiative and event.

Valentine's Day Celebrations

Our annual Valentine's Day classroom celebrations will take place on Friday, February 12th from 2:45-3:45 PM in classrooms. This is the final day before our mid-winter vacation. Please remember that all guest must check in at our main office. There will be parking on our black top area behind the school and in our main parking lot for visitors. Thank you in advance for helping with this.

Morning Drop Off Reminder

Please remember that students being dropped off by car in the morning should use our car rider line system. Many parents are dropping students off in our parking lot, which is a serious safety issue for students in the morning. Please use our drop off line. It is safe, quick, and the best way to drop off students in the morning. Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe every day at Dublin. Also, please remember that the tardy bell rings at 8:55 AM. Students that arrive after 8:55 AM are tardy for school.

News from the Music Room

The Kindergarten classes have been exploring high and low pitches in music and where they are located on barred instruments such as xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels. They have discovered that the longer the bar the lower the sound and the shorter the bar the higher the sound. Working together in pairs they played for each other the lowest to highest bars and then the highest to lowest bars. After that they played the lowest bar and the highest bar. They also worked together with resonator bells and steps to put them in the correct order from lowest to highest. The kids had a lot of fun and did a great job with this “hands-on” activity.
