Music – Lent – Easter - Family
When I grew up, my dad was the Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dolton, IL (a suburban town just south of Chicago, IL). We had a church sanctuary very similar to the look of ours here at Red Hill Lutheran. At the end of each Wednesday night Lenten worship service (that most everyone attended), we would always close with verse 8 of the Lutheran Hymnal #552 ‘Abide With Me’. The entire congregation would sing verse 8 together. The lights of the nave would be dimmed very low and the only thing fully lit in the entire sanctuary was the large cross at the front of the church behind the altar. Despite having a beautiful pipe organ, like we have here at RHL, this song always was played on the piano in the balcony in a very simple way, so it almost felt like each person was singing acapella at a soft beautiful tone while focusing on the lighted cross at the front of the sanctuary. There are many times in my life, for various reasons, I will have this song, and these meaningful lyrics, jump into the front of my head and a very special calm memory flood back into my mind. Music is interesting that way, and the songs we teach children will last with them for eternity. Thanks for taking time to join RHLS in helping to share songs with your children that have eternal meaning for them and bring them closer to Jesus now and in their lives ahead.
Please join us here at Red Hill Lutheran for Holy Week festival family services, including memorable music at all services.

"Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee
In life, in death, o Lord, abide with me" Lutheran Hymnal #522 [Luke 24:29]

Our Service Learning Elective students Give Back!
SERVICE LEARNING (teacher/office aide)
This year, our service learners (students who chose to work in the office for their elective) decided to send care packages to 12 military men & women connected to Red Hill Lutheran Church & School. These 12 included children of our custodians, office staff, prior board members, alumna of the school, a prior employee of the school, and her brothers. They sent care packages for St. Patrick's Day, Easter, and a special red, white & blue package.
Thank you Grace, Dillon, Lucy & Gianna for all your hard work this year!
Probability Carnival - 7th Grade Math

APRIL 11: JESUS APPEARS TO THE DISCIPLES
APRIL 28: THE MIRACULOUS CATCH OF FISH
APRIL 25: JESUS GOES UP TO HEAVEN
OVERVIEW:
Grab your hiking boots and pitch a tent. It’s time to summit through the story of Jesus, who rose from death and gave us everything we need for our journey. This month, we’re learning about how the miracle of Jesus’ resurrection strengthens us and changes our relationships in the best way. Everyone will have a chance to put these ideas in their backpack to carry with them always: Jesus overcame death. Jesus connects us to each other. Jesus gives encouragement. We are stronger with Jesus.
