Feedback Form FAQ Document for CGS Families 2023-2024
FAQ Submissions as of 7/16/2023:
During the first day of school, 07/24/2023, if we have students at the main campus and the high school campus will we have enough time to visit both? Will we need to have parents split up and take them to the separate campuses? I have two in elementary school and one in high school.
- You should have enough time to visit both campuses. You are only "stopping by" to gather materials, get syllabus information, meet your child's teacher(s) and drop off materials. I'd suggest going to the K-8 campus first and heading to the HS campus second. The K-8 campus is a larger campus to travel and younger students often have a lot more supplies, etc. to bring with you.
My oldest kids are in 9/10th grade and the youngest is in 1st grade. The message says to not drop them off on the 24th, but I can’t be in 2 different places at the same time. What do you expect for parents in this situation do on July 24th?
- See question above. We are being as flexible as possible on the 24th to ensure everyone has a chance to meet their teachers! Let us know if you're having issues, etc. or running behind. If you call our main campus number, we will get your message to whichever campus it needs to be delivered to.
How much are the parking passes for high school?
- They are $50.
For rising 1st graders how do we access PowerSchool? We didn’t use that in Kindergarten, or will that info be giving on first day?
- Yes, you will receive information on how to set up your PowerSchool account. Be on the lookout for that soon!
Can you clarify when elementary students will receive their homeroom teachers? This week’s email implies we will not know until the first day of school. In the past, homeroom assignments have been sent out the week before, which is extremely helpful for kids who need a little time to process and like to know what to expect.
- We are actively working on this! We hope to have that information to you prior to the first day.
Also, I would like to be able to order items off of teacher wish lists prior to the first day of school. Please clarify this. Thanks!
- Teachers are responsible for reaching out to students and families this week. They are inputting their wish lists in their newsletters. Thanks for asking!
Are there any changes to last year’s dress code?
- Nothing major!
I noticed the bell schedule has all of the high school going to lunch at the same time for only 25 min. Since you have decided to double the freshman class that puts the high school at over 200 students. Even if only half of them get school lunch how is it possible to serve 100 plus students and them have time to eat in a 25 min block. The last student in line may only have 5-10 mins to eat if they are lucky.
- So currently, HS student lunches are being delivered to them in the classroom/designated spaces once the hot lunches start. We can revisit this plan once we are on the new high school campus and start running a serving line again.
I’m sorry if I missed this, but I am looking to understand how to pick up children when you have children at both campuses, one of which is riding the shuttle from Integrity? What time is pick up and is there a safe space for my elementary student to wait? '
- Yes, the best option is to sign up for the shuttle and pick up all of your students at the K-8 campus. Your students will be ready for pick up at the K-8 campus at 3:30 P.M. when the shuttle returns. Students will be housed inside the building with supervision until it's their pick up time. So, in a way we will have 2 separate car rider lines. One that will be finished with all students K-8 and the 2nd one that runs around 330 to load the shuttle bus riders and siblings that were waiting. Yes, they will be safely housed!
Are there lunch options for student purchases at Integrity and if so are they similar to main campus? When will the lunch system be open for ordering?
- The systems will look different at both campuses. The HS campus is using My Hot Lunchbox. Yes, there will be 2 separate ordering systems. One for the HS program and one for the Elem/MS program that you're used to using at My School Lunch Account. We are working on preparing lunch numbers and will share those when they are ready!
- My Hot Lunchbox will not be available at the HS campus for at least the first two weeks of school while the vendors/system is being set up from the company we are working with. There will also not be hot lunches available the first week of school for our K-8 campus. Lunch menus and information will be made available as soon as possible.
When will supply list be available?
- These are already available on our school's website. http://cgsnc.org/home/grizzly-life/parents/supply-lists-for-2019-2020/ (URL says 19-20 but the 23-24 lists on on there)
Does 6th graders bring all school supplies on July 24?
- Yes please!
How will the bus work for regular location to high school after school to get kids ?'
- A shuttle bus that took the students to Integrity in the morning will also be there to get them in the afternoons at dismissal and they will be brought back to the K-8 campus by 3:30 P.M. for pick up. If that doesn't answer your question, please email me as the question was a little unclear.
When will schedules be ready? School starts in a week and I would appreciate notice to prepare accordingly (school supplies, etc). PowerSchool continues to be inaccessible.
- We are working on this!
How do we know what school supplies to buy for our child in middle school if we do not get their schedule until school starts. I noticed a list for core classes but the electives we don't know which our child got.
- We are working on this!
For 9th grade orientation do we just drop them off in the line like a normal day of school or do we go inside and sign them in?
- Please park and walk in to sign them in and out. Check in begins at 8:30 A.M. Check out will be at 12:00 P.M.
When will the 2024/2025 academic calendar be available on the website?
- Hopefully, it will be approved and posted after the August BOD meeting.
What time does school start for high school kids? No emails have went out about that yet. You said we would be kept up to date on that info.
- This information has already been posted in the prior July newsletters but here it is again in case you missed it.
- Instructional School Day:
- K-8 Campus- 7:45 AM- 2:45 PM (can drop off early as 7:15 A.M.)
- HS Campus- 8:00 AM -3:00 PM (can drop off early as 7:30 A.M.) **While at Integrity, the HS Campus will end at 2:55 P.M.
Are there any updates on the electrical parts and an expected completion date of the new campus?
- YES- see below!
Last year’s questions addressed security and there were a lot of responses that said we’re working to mirror the security procedures in place at main campus. Given the crime rate in this part town compared to the current campus, are there any additional security measures being put in place?
- Security measures will mimic what we have currently which include: security cameras, locked doors with only fob access available, School Resource Officer in place and additional Burlington PD presence outside. Safety is always our #1 priority at CGS, wherever we are located!
When will the middle school and high school kids get their class list so we can get supplies ?
- We are working on this!
After the new high school opens, will the school day return to 8 to 3, or was the 15 minute shift in the daily schedule done for a reason other than the split campuses?
- Same schedule as it is now. This allows time for our buses to pick up at both campuses.
On game days where a High School is riding an activity bus, will they be riding the bus from Integrity or from the main campus?
- Please touch base with Coach Paschal, our Athletic Director on this question.
Will high schoolers be allowed to use their personal laptops similar to the prior year or is a school issued laptop required?
- Personal laptops are fine.
After the new high school opens, will the bus pick up and drop off times return to more like they were last year? I’m assuming there is a longer period needed before and after school in order for the high school students to be transferred.
- Yes, potentially. Once we get closer to opening the new building, we will be in touch regarding updates/changes to the times on the bus routes.

Help Needed- Beta Club Students
I hope everyone has had a great summer! Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped in June at the end of the school year. Your hard work was appreciated!
CGS is needing help again. We are needing help on both campuses. Please review the sign up genius below that includes slots for both campuses-Clover Garden K-8 and Integrity Church High school campus. You can sign up for as many slots as you can. We are needing as many volunteers as we can get. If the slots fill up, reach out to me and I will add you.
This is a great opportunity to help your school and get a jump start on your service hours. Remember 1 service hour equals 1/2 hour towards your goal of 10 service hours per school year.
Thank you again for helping CGS successfully start the school year!
See you soon,
Mrs. Johnson

Parents of car riders in Grades K-8,
Please write your student's first and last name in marker or ink on a standard sheet of white paper. Please be sure to list all children and grade levels by indicating K or the corresponding number. (ie. John Smith, 2) We ask that you place the paper on the inside of your windshield, driver's side, to facilitate a smooth dismissal process. While this is not currently mandatory, it is highly recommended and greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. We look forward to a great year in the car rider lines!
