Students are working on their Engineering Careers Book in Mr. Salcido's class. They select an engineering career of their choice and determine the academic path, salary, and perks of the career! Thank you, Mr. Salcido, for encouraging our students to DREAM BIG!
Our Math Team Rocks!
Some of you may not know that some of the teachers on our math team are having to juggle THREE different preps. The teachers work so hard together to discuss solutions for ensuring that all our students are succeeding. In this meeting, we are discussing ways to alleviate some of the workload. Please show them some extra love! Thank you math team for ALL you do!
Hispanic Heritage Month
September 15 - Oct 31 is Hispanic Heritage Month. Department chairs will collaborate with their teams to develop a Hispanic Heritage Month activity with students. Please send pics of the work to Maria Rendon. Thank you!
Building Teacher Leaders
Thank you, Mrs. Neuharth, for conducting an impromptu SmartBoard training in PLC on Thursday! Mrs. Neuharth showed the team some of the basic functions of our MAXELL Interactive Projectors. Please reach out to the coaches if you have questions on how to use your projector. Thanks, Ms. Neuharth!
Proud Teacher Moment!
Mr. Sonnen had students make bumper stickers to engage them in learning about Loyalists vs. Patriots. He challenged his students to make the best bumper stickers and his studentsmade sure to request that Sonnen actually post their work on his truck. So he did. Thank you, Mr. Sonnen, for always striving to make learning fun for your students!!!!
🧦👕Dwight Community Closet👕👟
Ms. Montalvo and Ms. Neuharth are in the process of creating a Dwight Community Closet to benefit our students on campus. If you have gently used clothing and/or new hygiene products to donate please drop them off with these two ladies. If you have a student who may need some items - please refer them to Montalvo and Neuharth! They are excited to get this going for our kiddos!
❤️Go Red for Dyslexia Awareness Month❤️
October is Dyslexia Awareness month! On Monday, October 4th Ms. J. Morales, our Dyslexia teacher, is encouraging everyone to wear red. The color red is used to symbolize the dreaded "red marker" that teachers use to highlight mistakes in student work. Dyslexia groups have chosen red in order to take back its meaning and globally promote dyslexia awareness in a fun and positive way. Fall Festival
PBIS is busy organizing the Fall Festival! Please speak with any member of the team if you are able to assist in facilitating an activity or if you'd like to host a fundraiser.
The festival will be held on Friday, October 29th. More details to come!
DONATIONS NEEDED!
Ms. Mercedes Aguirre, our Spanish teacher, is requesting empty shoeboxes and colorful tissue paper so that the Spanish students can begin creating altars for Dia De Los Muertos! Thank you, Ms. Aguirre, for planning special lessons and activities to celebrate this special day!
Dwight Community Closet

Tutoring
We are still seeking tutors for the first semester! The monthly tutoring schedule was emailed out earlier this week. You are able to see the gaps in scheduling. Please sign up if you have not already done so. Thank you!
Lead a Club!
Please contact Mr. Padilla if you are interested in facilitating one of the clubs he is removing from his plate! He is willing to assist in the transition and will be available to answer questions. Please consider leading a club this year, our students are sorely in need of socialization activities and increased involvement in school.
