Red Ribbon Week

California began celebrating Red Ribbon Week in 1985, which became a national celebration in 1988. Red Ribbon Week was started in the memory of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena "KiKi" after he was killed in Mexico while working as an undercover drug agent. His family and friends wanted to continue KiKi's mission to raise awareness to parents and kids of the killing and destruction caused by drugs in America. At Northwest, we celebrate the sacrifice KiKi made and the right to make healthy choices for our futures by staying drug and alcohol-free. We will have dress-up days to show our support for Red Ribbon Week.

Monday, October 25: Wear Red to show support for Red Ribbon Week.

Tuesday, October 26: Outshine Drugs (Dress up in your nice clothes for Picture Day)

Wednesday, October 27: Saying No to Drugs is No Sweat (wear sweats)

Thursday, October 28: Team Up against drugs (wear Team Shirts)

Friday, October 29: We Scare Because We Can (wear Halloween costumes to school if you bring $2) All money collected will go to the Hereford Food Pantry and Hereford Snack Pak for Kids. Please do not wear face paint or full face masks.

Attendance Is Important

Please make every effort to have your child at school and on time. Another important thing to consider is trying to avoid picking your child up early from school. Teachers work hard with their students up to the dismissal bell, so if they are picked up early important learning is missed.

7:45 School Begins & Breakfast in the classroom

7:55 Announcements begin

I found this table on Facebook and thought it was helpful in explaining the importance of being at school from 7:45-3:35
