Texas Public Schools...The Heart of Education
Thank you to Mrs. Rhetta Collier and her Culinary Arts class for preparing and serving lunch at Leadership Longview's Education Day and to the Intermediate for making Valentine's cards for our guests. The Leadership students began their day touring ETxAMA, Ware Elementary and LeTourneau University before arriving at Spring Hill High School for lunch. SRO Roger Askew gave a presentation on school safety and students gave a tour of the building. Thank you to SHISD Transportation Department for chauffeuring our guests.

Junior High Band Members Win 108 Medals in Solo and Ensemble Competition
Spring Hill Junior High Band participated in a Solo and Ensemble Invitational. This contest took place on Thursday, February 7th at Gilmer High School. Our students performed for judges in small ensembles (groups of 3 to 6 musicians) and also as soloists. Almost every 7th and 8th grade band student participated in this contest improving on their individual musicianship skills.
I am proud to say that we received 108 total medals!!! This includes 23 1st division Soloist medals and 85 1st division Ensemble medals. We are very proud of the our students in the Spring Hill Junior High Band program! ~ Jacob Pipak
