There are Three tectonic plates by japan the pacific plate, philippine plate, and the eurasian plate. Japan is a subduction zone what that means is the pacific plate and the philippine plate are crashing together when that happens the philippine plate/land is heavier than the pacific plate/water. So the water is subducted under the plate when that happens the water turns to lava and is pushed to the earths core making an volcano. When the plates collide it caused earthquakes that ripple through the earth. There is a thing called the ring of fire japan is located on the western edge of it. The ring of fire is a ring where many volcanos sprout up and go off.
Japan has had more that a few volcanos and earthquakes that have devastated japan. Many of these events have taken life. On December 7, 1944 a 8.1 earthquake hit japan death toll reached 1,223 it was felt in many parts of the world. Japan has also experienced some very deadly volcanoes. One of the biggest being the eruption of mount Unzen it was the most devastating volcanic eruption in japan history. It happens in 1972 it is estimated that 15000 died that day. Mount unzen eruption lead to a tsunami and a landslide it was the most destructive thing to happen to japan in history. Those are some of the many reasons living in japan could be a good thing or a bad thing.
Which area would be decided as the most dangerous? Is it Japan? Is it Russia? Is it Indonesia? Or is it the United States? It is people’s opinion and decision to what they really think has the most dangerous land. Would people like to visit any of these places? Wouldn’t they enjoy seeing a volcano erupt right in front of their eyes? It matters on the people and where they live. Are they up to the danger?
