Yum Yum, Butter Braid Pastries!
Hello! Just a quick reminder for anyone who sold Butter Braid Pastries to earn money for their field trip...
Tomorrow, Thursday, November 17th, will be the day to pick up your orders. They will be available from 4:00- 5:30 P.M. in the cafeteria. Thanks!
Literacy/Reading
This week we learned about the causes of the American Revolutionary War. Ask your child which event would have upset them the most. They really don't like the Quartering Act!
We took our Cycle 2 Assessment today on non-fiction texts. We will spend the short week next week making test corrections.
Math
Word problems continue to challenge us all as we look at ways to use the remainder. Ask your child about using CUBES to help solve word problems. The hardest part doesn't seem to be the math itself but the reading comprehension behind the math problem. Thank you all for being so supportive of your students as they work their way through these challenging problems.
A great way to practice math with your child over the holiday break is to let them help grocery shop. It is great decimal practice to add up or subtract items from your list! They are getting pretty good at figuring out payments and change as well! Happy Thanksgiving with decimals!
Science
This week we are finishing up understanding the differences between Chemical and Physical Changes as we take our test on them on Friday, November 18th. Next week, we will take a look at the difference between qualitative and quantitative data and learn how to read different temperatures.
Earbuds!!
Thanks!!
