Healthy Families

There has been a lot of talk these days about the high levels of stress in families with kids at home all day, doing school, and families at home, working. All the multi-tasking that is happening can create friction in any house. We hear a lot about the stress, but what do we do about it. Eastin has joined with Alliance for a Healthier Generation so support physical and mental health at all levels, staff, classrooms, students and families. Here are some ideas and inspiration for a happier home life.

Child Find

It is the responsibility of the New Haven Unified School District to locate any child in the district who may have a disability, regardless of the severity of the disability. It is also the responsibility of the New Haven Unified School District to evaluate those students to determine if they are eligible for special education or related services under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

If you suspect that your child, at any age, may need an evaluation to determine eligibility for special education services, you may request an evaluation, at no cost, at your child’s school. Please contact the Principal at your child’s school for information about referring your child for an evaluation.

Connecting the Dots

Mom and I started working on this project -“polka dot shirt” yesterday night. I doodled a few purple and green dots and then added a pattern of rainbow dots and made a colorful necklace. I connected the dots with some confetti shaped dots and dashes and built on more geometric shapes, hearts, rectangles, circles and diamonds. It all started with one small dot to make this small piece of art We all are like the dots; we come in different shapes sizes and colors - let’s all stay connected in harmony, be respectful and make the world a beautiful and safe place for all of us.
