Pleasant Valley Staff Newsletter
Week of October 23, 2023
Our mission is to empower and inspire a community of lifelong learners and leaders.
Dear PV Super Stars,
We will have our Grade 3 students take the Fall ELA OSTs on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, so please be mindful of transitions in the hallways and remind your students about silent hallway expectations.
Our PE Fall Pumpkin Run is coming up soon; please share this with your families, as we need more volunteers to sign up to punch pumpkin cards!
- Our Pumpkin Run is scheduled for October 25, 26, & 27, 2023. Please consider volunteering to make this fun event happen for our learners! Click here for the Volunteer Sign-up link.
Halloween parties and the parade will take place on Monday, October 31st. Please see this document for all of the details.
Wishing you all a great weekend and week,
Stephanie

Communication with Families about Fall Parade and Celebration on 10.31
The message below is in the PV Family Newsletter 10.20.2023. Teachers, if you could also send this to your families within your communication, it would be helpful to ensure that everyone is informed.
October 31st is an exciting day for many of our students. One of our traditions here at Pleasant Valley is our Fall Character and Costume Parade. On October 31st, students are allowed to bring a school-appropriate costume to change into at school. These costumes should not be worn to school but can be worn over their clothes before our fall parade and classroom parties. These costumes must be school-appropriate and have no lookalike weapons or accessories. Costumes that need to be inflated or require any hair color or makeup will not be permitted. Students also must be able to put the costumes on by themselves.
If we have dry weather, the whole school will parade through the neighborhood behind Pleasant Valley. All are welcome to attend outside. Students will use the following route: Arlington School, Left on Riechert Rd, Right on Whitaker Dr, Right on Tracy Trail, Right on Chateau Rd, and then back to Pleasant Valley Elementary. If you plan to attend, please plan to park in the neighborhood and line the sidewalks of the route. Again, this will all be dependent on the weather. With weather permitting, students will head up the hill around 2:15 p.m. Students will return to their classrooms after the parade for a short fall celebration.
Parents will not be permitted in the building after the parade unless they are an approved party volunteer. If you volunteer and elect to sign your child out early, it will be considered unexcused.
