Message From Mrs. El-Amin
Good Evening TLA Family,
Can you believe that we are already more than halfway through August and in just 12 days we will be reunited (united) once again? We have all been working hard this August to make sure the building and all of our staff are prepared for your arrival. We have used the summer to apply feedback and set priorities for the year which has included changes to the facility and diving deep into curriculum and professional development. We are committed to making sure your scholar flourishes. Below are a few important updates and events, please make sure you read the newsletter each week. Moving forward, the newsletter will also be posted on our website for quick reference to previous editions.
We know that many of you had not received our original communication regarding uniform ordering and distribution. We will be reopening the link on the website so that quarter-zips and polos may be ordered directly from the school : Online Uniform Order Link . The link will be active starting Monday, August 22, 2022. Please pick up pre-ordered uniforms in our main office this week. The office hours are 8:00 - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
-P.S. We have changed the P.E. uniform, based on scholar feedback.
Physical Education uniforms are required for Grades 6-12. They must be ordered online from Wright World Sports or by visiting their store at 2885 South Bartells Drive, Beloit.
Are you ready to be great? GO Lions!!

Dear TLA Families,
Welcome to Year 2 at The Lincoln Academy! The staff and administration at TLA are extremely excited to welcome you back or welcome you for the first time to The Lincoln Academy. We have been preparing all summer to ensure we grow stronger and better to be the best school for your scholars. We are focusing on communication and connectivity this year, along with our three pillars: academic rigor, character development, and career exploration. The leadership team has developed a school year event calendar to help you plan ahead of time and we also included more opportunities for family engagement. We take your feedback seriously and do our best to ensure we continue to strive for excellence. At The Lincoln Academy we have high expectations of ourselves, our scholars and our families. Please take a look at our Year One in Review Report that shares our data and results from last year. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or comments, kristi.cole@tlabeloit.com.
We are all here to ensure 100% of our scholars graduate ready to lead happy, choice-filled lives. Thank you for being partners in this vision! We can't wait to see all of you at our scholar orientations and the first day of school! #ReadytoRoar - GO LIONS!

Athletic Update with Mr. Clothier
It was exciting to see our high school athletes hard at work during their first week of practice! For any scholars that would still like to join fall sports, it’s not too late. Please reach out to Athletic Director, Mr. Clothier, at joe.clothier@tlabeloit.com or call the school, 608-690-5100.
Athletes need a sports physical on file with the school. Sports physicals are good for two years and many of our scholars had physicals last year. Mr. Clothier will also be reaching out to athletes with past-due fees, as they are not able to participate until fees are paid. All forms should be turned in via Skyward. Fees should be paid via Skyward as well.
Due to events taking place at TLA the practice schedule has changed for this week. Volleyball and Cross Country practice schedule will be as follows:
8/22 Monday - 4:30-6:00 pm
8/23 Tuesday - 5:00-6:30 pm
8/24 Wednesday - 4:30-6:00 pm
8/25 Thursday - No Practice
8/26 Friday - No practice
Family Handbook Update
Homework Reflection
When a scholar in Grades 1st-10 does not complete his/her homework, they will be assigned Homework Reflection held the next school day from 4:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. to complete the missing homework assignment. Parents will be notified before 3:15 p.m. on the day of the missing assignment by an administrator if the scholar needs to remain after school the following day to complete their missing assignments. Any scholar participating in sports or clubs will be required to attend the session of Homework Reflection before attending the club meeting, practice, or game for that evening. Please note this could result in a scholar missing transportation to a game or home if they rely on the school bus. Parents will be responsible for providing alternate transportation for their scholar immediately following Homework Reflection.
