The history of computing
By William Wallace
Alan Turing
Alan Turing was the first person to invent a computer. He imagined his computer to solve codes and work out equations with out work of the human brain. During world war two Alan was sent to a british intelligence place in London to work out the Nazi code.
Tim Berners-lee
Tim Berners-lee was the creator of the world wide web. His idea was to connect computers up to each other from other country or the same countries so he created a system where computers could connect, this was called the world wide web (www).
Modern day computers
Modern day computers can access lots of different websites where you can buy stuff, play computer games, send messages to someone from different parts of the world, and many other things.
Motherboard
The motherboard is the section of the computer which connects up all of the other computer hardware.
Hard Drive
A hard drive is a data storage used for storing and retrieving digital information using rapidly rotating disks coated with magnetic material.
Optical Drive
An optical disc drive uses laser light or electromagnetic waves within or near the visible light spectrum as part of the process of reading or writing data to or from optical discs.
Different parts to a computer
CPU (central processing unit)
The CPU is basically the brain of the computer. It is the electronic circuitry within a computer that carries out the instructions of a computer program by performing the basic arithmetic, logical, control and input or output operations specified by the instructions.
RAM (random-access memory)
The RAM is a form of computer data storage A random-access memory device allows data items to be read and written in roughly the same amount of time regardless of the order in which data items are accessed.
Monitor
A monitor or a display is an electronic visual for computers.
