...smore of what we did this week
Hello Prek parents. We met our new letter buddy this week via a flipped learning video. Our teachers made a short video on the touchcast app to introduce our newest letter buddy. We brainstormed over 30 G vocabulary words. We practiced handwriting in our journals, phonics books, and on our own. We read sight words, sight word sliders and played a new phonics word game. We wrote the parts of a plant on sentence descriptors. We glued and named all the parts of the plant and hung them in the hallway for all to see. We read From seed to plant, Oh say can you seed, Pumpkin pumpkin, The seed song, and Tops and Bottoms to learn more about plants in science. We will revisit plants during our PBL, project based learning, weeks in April. We read the book, Presidents, to help learn more about community helpers and social studies. In math, we participated in #numbertalks to practice sequencing, number recognition, simple addition, and skip counting. We practiced skip counting, number writing, and simple addition with some worksheets. We also practiced problem solving with puzzles. We welcomed a new student, Aiden to our classrom!!!!
