December 18, 2023 - Volume 4; Issue 19
We have now passed the half-way mark of Advent. Jesus is near - Christmas is almost here! This third week of Advent is a reminder to seek and spread joy in the coming of Christ. So here is our challenge for this third week: spread joy! Continue to focus on joyful appreciation, reflecting on our many blessings, and sharing that joy with others.
Champions on the Court, Saints at Heart!
We are thrilled to announce and celebrate a momentous achievement by our Boys Basketball team – they are the champions of the 2023 Catholic School League! With incredible sportsmanship and skill, our Saints triumphed with a final score of 52-38.
Our congratulations go out to every player who contributed to this remarkable victory. Your dedication, teamwork, and commitment to excellence have truly made us proud. Special commendation is also due to our exceptional coaching staff – Coach Stevenson, Coach K., and Coach T. Your guidance and leadership have played a pivotal role in shaping our team into champions.
This achievement not only highlights the athletic abilities of our players but also underscores the values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship that are integral to our school community. Go Saints! Let's revel in this moment of triumph and continue to support our remarkable team in all their future endeavors.

Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
This past Tuesday, our community came together to honor the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Brothers Robert and PJ Castaneda, with the help of their wonderful families, crafted and shared hundreds of delectable tamales and treats for our parishioners to savor after mass. The day held deep significance, commemorating the miraculous apparition of Mary to Saint Juan Diego in 1531 on the hills of Tepeyac. Saint Juan Diego was entrusted with a sacred mission – to convey Mary's message to the bishop, requesting the construction of a church atop Tepeyac hill. Our gratitude extends to the Castaneda family and our church staff for making this day truly extraordinary. Together, we continue to celebrate faith, community, and the timeless spirit of giving.
BGHS Junior Gael Band
Bishop Gorman's High School Music Director has implemented a Junior Gael Band which is a beginning ensemble for students in 4th- 8th grade. This ensemble is intended for students who have never played an instrument and for those with some experience. If intereseted in attending, please see the attached flier for detailed information.
