It is hard to believe that the new school year is starting soon, but it is! We welcome the 2022-2023 school year with optimism and excitement! As most of you know, my name is Tim Livingston and I am excited to be entering my fourth year as your assistant principal and my 12th year in education.
I can say without a doubt that my favorite thing about Pat Reynolds Elementary is our parent-teacher community environment! It is a true privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic success and social progress. This year will be no different!
I cannot wait to welcome all of our Armadillos back to school! Our RES team appreciates you entrusting your child to us for their elementary school experience. Spring ISD Immunization Notice
It is the goal of Spring ISD to keep all students healthy while in school. In an effort to protect the health and wellness of all students, state law requires all students in Texas to provide their schools with up-to-date immunization documentation or proof of medical or religious exemption in order to attend school.
At the beginning of the school year, all students must present proper immunization documentation in order to attend school. If a student is discovered to not have received their proper immunizations, the school will hold your child’s schedule and your child will be excluded from attendance and will receive an “unexcused absence” each day they are out of school. Once the proper immunization documentation is presented to the school, the student will be allowed to return and the missed days will be changed to “excused absences.”
Texas Department of State Health Services’ immunization requirements can be found here and are based on a student’s age. If you are not sure if your student’s school has the immunization records they need, contact the school nurse to find out. You may also contact your primary health provider or make an appointment for your student to receive their annual wellness (physical) visit. During the annual wellness (physical) visit, ensure the health provider updates your child’s immunization record with appropriate proof of immunization or medical exemption. You will need to give this immunization documentation to the school.
This policy will protect the health of all students. In order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as measles, it is vital that all students are fully immunized before entering school. Immunizations are the best defense against some of the most common and sometimes deadly infectious diseases. This policy will help prevent an outbreak among unimmunized children and adults, similar to those that have occurred in other communities.
To find immunization locations near you, please visit the Harris Health System site or call 713-873-TOTS (713-873-8687).
We will also offer free vaccines on Saturday, July 30 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. during the Spring ISD Back to School Expo at Dekaney High School (22351 Imperial Valley Dr, 77073). Please bring your child’s shot record.
If you do not have health insurance or need a healthcare provider, please call 2-1-1 to access local community services such as healthcare, insurance, and vaccines. If you have other questions or would like more information regarding this notice, please contact your child’s school nurse.
