10/23-31: Red Ribbon Week
10/31: HalloweenPledge Drive Extended until October 7th!
Congratulations on helping us make it to 89% of our pledge drive goal. We hope the students are excited about voting on Ms. Buhr’s Halloween costume, as promised for making it to 75%! We know the students REALLY want to meet the 90% goal so they can duct tape the principal to the wall ball, and we are almost there! Ms.Buhr has graciously allowed us to extend the pledge drive incentive by one week to help make the 90% mark.
A huge thank you to the 270 students and families that have generously donated to the Foundation. Your donations help ensure we can continue to offer so many wonderful programs and support at Park Village!
For any people who still wish to contribute, there is still time! Every little bit helps, and no amount is too small. As you contemplate if a donation will fit in your budget, please consider the value you see in weekly physical education, five sessions of Meet the Master which covers both art history and hands-on art projects, and engaging science labs which occur quarterly increasing to weekly throughout the student’s time at PV.

Start With Hello
Start with Hello is a program that empowers students to recognize loneliness and social isolation in their peers. It offers strategies to reach out and help, and ways they can grow an empathetic and inclusive community.
Thank you to our 5th graders for taking the time this past week to start our days with a cheerful "hello!" It made our days a whole lot brighter!

Fall Book Fair is almost here
The Scholastic Fall book Fair will be at Park Village from October 11th-14th. Students will have the opportunity to shop during class and we will also be open for parents and families before and after school. (Students will only be allowed with parents during this time.) We will also be open before movie night on Friday, October 14th for your shopping convenience.
We offer a cash free option called ewallet. Please visit our homepage www.scholastic.com/bf/parkvillage for more details. We’re excited to celebrate our love of books together at the book fair and we cant wait to see you there! Remember every dollar you spend will benefit our school directly.
New this year is ewallet for teachers. Click on their name below and donate to their ewallet so teachers can buy books of their choice to grow their classroom library.

DADS Movie Night
DADS Movie Night is Friday, October 14. We'll be showing Rio under the stars on the back playground. Families are invited to begin seating at 6 PM with the movie starting around 7 PM when it's dark. Please watch the weather forecast and dress accordingly and bring jackets or blankets to stay warm. We will be on the blacktop so chairs are recommended. Movie snacks including popcorn, nachos, and cotton candy will be served. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink. Movie Night, including snacks, is free to all Park Village Elementary students and their families. All students should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If you're interested in volunteering to help to make this an awesome event, whether it's purchasing food prior, set up, or serving snacks, see the sign-up link below or contact the DADS at PVESDADS1@gmail.com. Dads, moms, older siblings, or high school students needing volunteer hours are all welcome.
