Compacted Math 7-8:
We will continue our Module 5 on Percents when we return from Fall Break, and take our Quiz 5 during that first week back
Math 7:
We will continue our Module 4 on Proportionality when we return from Fall Break, and take our Quiz 4 during that first week back
Science:
Last week the 7th graders started studying the layers of the atmosphere. They kicked off the unit by creating a layer of the atmosphere flip chart which included them using 5 different color sheets of paper identifying and labelling each layer. They included pertinent information about each layer. This week we are slowly getting into the water cycle and soon will be discussing weather related topics. At some point in the upcoming weeks, it is my desire to secure a meteorologist to come (via Zoom or Google Meet) to speak with our scholars.
ELA:
We are 1/4 through the school year and have been on task with our content. We have just finished reading Women in Aviation and the students really enjoyed the informational piece and shared their opinions and thoughts on the difficulties women and African Americans faced in the early 20th century. We are currently looking at 'The Giver' and students are excited to compare text to media and enjoy the activities that are associated with the novel. Also 7th graders with outstanding assignments have been working really hard to get caught up on their grades.
Social Studies: Mr Griffin
This past week we have been focusing on life styles of people during the Middle Ages, Manors, Castles, Feudalism, etc, & Presenting out projects on the Middle Ages
