Art Club Announcement
Art Club will be meeting on Tuesday, October 4th, and Thursday, October 6th from 2:45- 4:00 in the upstairs blue pod. We will be discussing Homecoming projects, the Club leadership team, and working on a painting project. You are welcome to come on one or both days, but we will be doing the same project on both days. If you have any questions, email Mrs. Ferrebee or stop by her room D207.
Youth Service Learning
YSL is a student group that celebrates volunteer service in our community. Do you enjoy working with others, helping those in need, or leading opportunities for those who need a hand up? YSL showcases opportunities, leads volunteer initiatives, and discusses how students have learned from their experiences.

BLOOD DRIVE
Bay Port student council is hosting a Blood Drive this Thursday, October 6th 8:30am - 3:00pm. Schedule here, connect with a student council member or call (800) 2801-4102.
Students must be 16 years old to donate. Parent permission is required for 16 year olds and these forms are also available in the office or from Senor Nelson. Seventeen years and older may donate on their own. One donation can save up to 3 lives and you will learn your blood type. Here is information about becoming a gallon grad and CBC scholarships.

The Community Blood Center provides 100% of the blood to HSHS St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center & St. Vincent Hospital and more than 30 others. Help patients right here in your community! Additionally, CBC is part of a national response helping victims of Hurricane Ian.
REGISTER TO VOTE!!
Bay Port will be holding a Voter Registration day on Friday, October 7th and will be available to any student who will turn 18 years old by the Wisconsin Fall voting day which is Tuesday, November 8th. Please note the details below which will assist you with registration:
1. Registration will take place during lunch times in the commons.
2. Students will need proof of residence and age.
3. ID should consist of Wisconsin Driver's License or ID (government issued), or passport.
4. If you do not have a valid driver's license or ID card, you can provide the last 4 digits of your social security number.
If anyone has questions, please see Mr. Wallander in the main office.

GREEN BAY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE FAIR
Tuesday, October 11
6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
at Providence Academy
3435 Shawano Ave. in Green Bay
Representatives from many Christian colleges and universities in North America will be at the Fair.
Finances often keep families from seriously considering private, Christian education. A college financial aid professional will have a table at the Fair to answer any and all questions your students and their families may have.
Students are encouraged to pre-register for the Fair at http://www.findyourchristiancollege.com/. After registering, students print out a barcode to bring with them to the Fair. You can also find more info at the website and see a great video about the Fair.
PSAT
The PSAT will be administered to Juniors on Wednesday, October 12th. This test provides valuable practice for college admissions exams, is a qualifying test for National Merit Scholarships, and is required for some scholarship competitions. Registration has been extended to October 6th at 3pm.

Tickets will be $10 and sold at lunches the week of October 10th (presale ONLY).
Guest Passes can be picked up at the Welcome Desk in the rotunda. Guest passes are needed if you are attending the dance with someone that is not a Bay Port student. Parent (guardian) signatures are required for you and your guest. Forms are due back to the main office no later than Thursday, October 13th.

PICTURE RETAKES - OCTOBER 17th
7:30—9:00 a.m. in the downstairs Blue Pod.
Students who want a retake should bring $5 and report to the Blue Pod when their last name is called down alphabetically or when they are free.
Students and Faculty who were absent on Picture Day should get their photo taken on this date
for school ID and yearbook purposes.

ASVAB Offered at Bay Port
Are you considering a career in the military or just want to learn more about your career options? We are offering the ASVAB Career Exploration Program here at Bay Port High School for 10th-12th graders and it's FREE!
TEST DATE AND DETAILS: Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 7:30 a.m. in the Forum Room.
REGISTER FOR THE ASVAB HERE - Registration deadline is Monday, November 7 by 3:00 p.m.
Please plan to arrive in the Forum Room by 7:15 a.m. on exam day. The exam will take approximately 3 hours. You will receive your exam results and have them interpreted right after testing is complete.

***IMPORTANT REMINDERS***
Bay Port does not have an Open Campus, which means if you have a study hall before or after your lunch period you must report to both.
Study Hall Reminder: Students need to sign in to their study hall. All students are marked absent each morning for study hall until they sign in.
HEALTHROOM BULLETIN
To have your absence medically excused, the Attendance Office must have the following:
1. Medical note from provider stating what dates are excused
2. For COVID absences to be medically excused we need: copy of positive PCR test or a medical note from provider documenting days that are excused.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS OR DELAY DUE TO WEATHER
In addition to District Social Media, local TV/Radio stations and the District Website, HSSD will also send weather-related delays and cancellations via text message.
THE GIVING TREE
The Giving Tree will be starting to register families for our December Holiday Store. Please reach out to your school social worker if you think your student may benefit from assistance with The Giving Tree. For our generous community, look for information in future district communications about donating to our Holiday Store and volunteering!
This month The Giving Tree is collecting canned tuna and canned chicken. Please feel free to send donations with your students to put in the collections bins/carts near the main office of school or families can also drop donations off during school hours. The Giving Tree appreciates the community support in helping ensure food is not a barrier to a student’s education.
NWTC CAREER COACHING DAYS
Connie Jordan from NWTC will be here every Tuesday in Student Services starting on September 20. The purpose of Mrs. Jordan's time here is to meet with you about any or all of the following topics or anything else you'd like to discuss:
