Principal's Corner
Our 6th grade received a huge compliment while at the basilica during their field trip Monday. The tour guide, a brother associated with the basilica, said our SLS 6th grade "is the most informed class I ever gave a tour to". Students answered every question and were eager to participate. All of the teachers and chaperones were impressed.
Please Help Us Keep Everyone Safe
With the time change, it is again dark during morning drop-off. Please drive slowly and watch out for our students and parents walking into SLS and the preschool.

Spring Musical info
We are always looking for ways to make the spring musical a better experience for our students and our families. After listening to suggestions, this year we are trying something new with the performances! Students who are not members of the after school cast will only perform one of the two nights.
Students in the Red junior high classes will perform on Thursday, May 9. Students in the White junior high classes will perform on Friday, May 10. If your student is in different classes for different subjects, Mrs. Pedersen will contact you directly to let you know which night they are performing. These groups are how Mrs. Pedersen sees the students.

5th/6th grade Academic Team 2019
Saturday, March 2nd, the St. Louis 5th/6th graders were the overall champions at the Batesville Deanery 5th & 6th Grade Academic Meet. This meet was hosted by Oldenburg Academy and Thomas Moore College. The attending teams were: St. Louis, St. Nicholas, St. Lawrence, St. Michael, St. Marys of Greensburg, and St. Marys of Aurora.
This was one of the most intense competitions I have ever coached. It came down to a tie between St. Louis and St. Michael, a first in the history of 5th/6th grade academic competitions! A tiebreaker question in the General Knowledge category decided the outcome. Who would have known a naked mole rat would win us the title!? Let’s hear it for Ainsley Sipples! She nailed that question for the win. Her teammates of Sam Laloge, Christian Mack , Sophia Hohenstein and Sully Hill helped pave the way to our overall win.
Shout out to our Social Studies team for a 1st place finish in this category. This team answered 15/17 questions correct! They also won by 5 points. Way to go Santiago Schutte, Christian Mack, Henry Wanstrath, Adam Meer and Lucy Abplanalp.
An awesome performance by our Religion team! St. Nicholas wins every year by more than 4 points, but our team of Sully Hill, Matt Geisen, Sophia Hohenstein, Felicity Brelage and Karsyn Watson held on and only came in second by 1 point!! Great job!
Science, Language Arts, Math team did great with third place finishes.
I don’t know about them but those Math questions were difficult, and to answer them in 20 seconds!! But our boys of Henry Wanstrath, Santiago Schutte, Sam Laloge, Sam Richardson and Brady Wonnell handle the questions like pros and did an amazing job.
Adam Meer, the sole 6th grader on the science team handle a team of intelligent 5th graders of Brady Wonnell, Sam Richardson, Ashley Hunter and Felicity Brelage by listening to their input and not once denied their answers. Proud of you Adam.
Language Arts team, what can I say about Lucy Aplanalp, Ainsley Sipples, Matt Geisen, Ashley Hohenstein and Karsyn Watson? They outdid themselves with a great performance! Karsyn was not in her seat the entire time, she jumped on every answer. Way to go team!
Thank you to all the parents! Thank you for your continued support with this great group of kids. Thank you to Mrs. Geisen for stepping up and helping coach this team.
Congratulations St.Louis Catholic School!
