Blue and Gold Day - Thursday, May 26
On Thursday, May 26th, we have Blue and Gold Day scheduled. Students should dress for physical activity outside. They should bring water bottles to refill and sunscreen is recommended. One of the grade level activities this year is a unique outdoor game called, “The Great Game.” Students compete in teams in an outdoor escape room type of activity that is a race. Using an app, students on the team receive clues needed to solve puzzles and complete tasks.
For this activity, students will be using their cell phones if they have one. If they do not have one, we will provide them an ipad for use during the game. We will be helping students to download the free app to play the game during WIN in preparation for Thursday. Some students have phone settings that require parent permission for downloading apps. If this is the case for your child, if you can assist your child with this in advance, that would be helpful. Your child should use their school email address to sign up for an account and use the password for their school login so that he or she will remember it. They don’t need to do anything else. We will add them to a team on the day of the event.

New Next Year - MA Advisory Program
Next year we are implementing an Advisory program at Murray Avenue. We are really excited to present this new program to our students. Once a month, we will have a special schedule that will begin the day with grade level specific lessons delivered in homerooms. The last period of the day will be a club period. During this period, students will have the opportunity to participate in a club to explore and develop interests and to develop relationships with teachers and peers. This is intended to support the social emotional needs of middle school students and–to be fun! Students should select five clubs that they would be interested in participating in. They will be scheduled for two clubs, one for the first semester and one for the second semester. Students will know what club they have been scheduled for when their schedule is viewable in August. If you would like more information about our Advisory program, click HERE.
To view the club choices, click HERE. After viewing the options, students should complete this form to make their selections: Advisory Club Selection Form for 22-23. These clubs do not replace our after-school extracurricular activities/clubs. Please talk with your child about what clubs he or she might enjoy. The form is submitted once but can be edited after it’s submitted until the form closes. Forms are due by Friday, May 27, 2022.
Current Grade 6 and 7 Student Scheduling Forms
Grade 6 and 7 students need to complete scheduling forms in addition to the Advisory Club Selection Form. These are due by Friday, May 27, 2022. These are grade level specific forms.

Reminder for 8th Grade Hershey Park Trip
We are looking forward to the 8th grade class trip to Hersheypark scheduled for Thursday June 9, 2022. We wanted you to be aware of a change that Hershey made for their amusement park this year. Hersheypark has gone cashless. This includes all food vendors, gift shops, and any games in the park. The park will accept credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and Hersheypark Gift Cards. There are Cash-to-Card kiosks around the park where students can load cash onto a debit card to be used in the park. Additionally, e-gift cards can be purchased before the trip and used in the park as well.
For more information on this change, please visit Hershey’s FAQ website: https://www.hersheypark.com/info/faqs.php.
