The Viewpoint
CyberDragons
The CyberDragons, our very own Oakview Robotics Team, are competing this Saturday, December 8, 2018. The team is hoping for a great victory in order to advance to the state competition in Battle Creek the following weekend. The competition this Saturday will be held at Oxford Middle School from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. The event is open to the public. Come out and cheer on the team.
Good luck CyberDragons!
Positivity Project - Humility
Our next character trait is Humility. Humble people have an accurate (not underestimated) sense of their abilities and achievements. They hold the capacity to acknowledge their mistakes and limitations, and are open to advice and new ideas. They do not show off their possessions or accomplishments.
Humility and modesty are often characterized as synonymous with shy or meek. This is false. True humility is a sign of strength; it is a quiet confidence in who you are. It requires an honest self-reflection on your strengths and weaknesses, and self-control over ego, arrogance, and vanity. It encapsulates a person’s feelings, thoughts, and actions. It includes resistance to false modesty or the “humble brag.”

Yearbook information
Our yearbook staff does a good job of taking pictures for the yearbook but we'd like to include pictures you might have as well. Things we would like pictures of include:
- Last day of school 2018
- Summer vacation pictures (please try to have something picturesque in the background)
- First day of school
- Volunteering in the community
- Friends and Fun Night
- Or anything else you think would be good
To submit these pictures, please download the Replayit app (it's associated with Jostens). You'll want to find Oakview Middle School and it will allow you to upload photos right from whatever device you're on at the time. Please try to include as much information as possible. It will help us tag the appropriate students.
We cannot guarantee that your picture will be included but we'll certainly try.
Thank you,
The Oakview Yearbook Staff
